What improvements are coming to the Far Northeast (FNA) neighborhoods?
Denver Public Schools (DPS) is pleased to announce the addition of a new neighborhood school facility to serve our students in the Far Northeast. Construction of this beautiful new school campus will begin on June 2016 on a portion of the vacant land at East 47th Avenue and Walden Street . This new campus will house KIPP Montbello Elementary and KIPP Montbello College Prep beginning in the 2017-2018 school year. These two existing programs have demonstrated enrollment demand and academic excellence for students in the area, and at full build, will serve kindergarten through eighth grades.   Continue reading.

What is campus sharing?
Campus sharing is a placement solution that lets DPS serve more students with the facilities we already have available.  In a campus-sharing arrangement, two or more schools are co-located within the same district facility. Continue reading.

How Do We Approve New Schools? 
This process, called The Call for New Quality Schools, is how we request, review and approve new schools to serve our students. These schools may be district-run schools or charter schools and the process is open to anyone who wants to submit an application. Continue reading.

DPS Board of Education Update
On June 16, 2016 the DPS Board of Education approved the following facility placement in alignment with the criteria of the Facility Allocation Process:
KIPP Montbello Elementary School and KIPP Montbello College Prep at Far Northeast Campus 28, opening in the 2017-18 school year with the elementary school serving students in ECE through grade 3, and adding grade 4 the following year, and Montebello College Prep seeing students in grades 5 through 8.
