About Us

We are dedicated to developing educated, engaged, and empowered parents and staff who are academic partners in student success. The three components of work the Family Empowerment team provides consist of: FACE professional development, Parent Empowerment & Leadership Training, and School-Based Family Engagement Programs.

Why Family Empowerment?

Research has continually found that family and community engagement in children’s learning directly and positively impacts children’s academic achievement and well-being. Although there are many ways to involve parents, there are specific activities and behaviors that have a greater impact on increased academic achievement.

The Family Empowerment Team is dedicated to developing educated, engaged, and empowered parents and staff who are partners in creating great schools in every neighborhood where Every Child Succeeds.

Parent Teacher Home Visits

Too often, a home visit from a teacher means one thing to a family: trouble. But with the Parent Teacher Home Visit (PTHV) Program, the goal is to start by building a strong and positive relationship between the family and the school. The visits begin with the teacher asking about the family’s hopes and dreams for their child. By involving the parents and families, we create a better chance of success for students.
