Extending Learning and Community Schools (ELCS) is aware of the numerous operational closures at DPS Elementary Schools on Thursday, March 20th.

  • This will NOT impact our program offerings (Discovery Link: AM, PM, Kadoodles, ELCS Enrichment, and ELCSports).

  • All programs will be offered at normal times to ensure you have options for childcare and to allow your child(ren) the opportunity to engage in their after school passions. 

  • Please note we will NOT be offering full day camps and will only offer the scheduled offerings and times.

  •  If you will be utilizing PM Discovery Link we kindly ask that you drop your child(ren) off within 30 minutes of program start time/schools PM bell.

If you have already registered or selected days for 3/20 and you would like to use the services, there is no further action needed. If you would like to use these services and are not registered, please make sure you do so by 6am tomorrow (Discovery Link ONLY). If you had previous selected days for Discovery Link and wish to no longer use the services, please update your family managed calendar accordingly by 6am on 3/20.

At Extended Learning and Community Schools (ELCS), we’re dedicated to providing Denver Public Schools (DPS) students with safe, enriching, and inspiring opportunities beyond the classroom. From Discovery Link to Enrichment Programming and a wide array of Out-of-School Time (OST) activities, our programs empower students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

We proudly serve over 70 schools across the district, creating spaces where students can:

  • Explore new skills through hands-on, engaging activities.

  • Build friendships and strengthen their sense of community.

  • Develop resilience and confidence with Social Emotional Academic Learning (SEAL) woven into everything we do.

Whether it’s after school, during breaks, or throughout the summer, ELCS programs ensure every student has access to opportunities that inspire a lifelong love of learning and growth.

We will support social, emotional, and academic learning, increase family participation and community engagement and expand middle school programming. In addition, we will develop a foundation and provide structures for DPS Elementary School Athletics, known as ELCSports, through our after school programming infrastructure.
